Op Kindermaat [Dutch for child-sized, specialy made for children] helps teachers and parents support young children's social-emotional development, striving for more connection, positivity and peace, in the classroom and at home! Op Kindermaat was founded by Karolien Raeymakers.
About Karolien Raeymakers
Karolien Raeymakers is a renowned child psychologist, behavioral therapist, and author of the popular book Think Like Your Toddler/Preschooler (Denk als je peuter/kleuter). With a deep passion for supporting children's emotional development, she is the visionary creator and developer of the Jungle Buddies program.
Through her extensive work as a child psychologist, Karolien combines academic expertise with practical experience to create innovative tools and methods that help children thrive.
All on the same page: at school and at home
It is paramount not only to focus on cognitive development and performance, but also to invest in psychological well-being from an early age.
Making our children aware and guiding them in developing their selves, learning to trust in themselves, and being balanced and resilient in the world with a positive mindset are the skills that deserve at least equal attention.
We know that, but getting started with this in a well-founded and step-by-step manner is not obvious and demands a lot, from each of us.

Share knowledge
A theoretical framework on the development of the young child provides clarity in that what can be considered age-appropriate and what, in other words, we can and should expect. And above all ... what not.
With this footing, it is often easier to look at children's behaviour through different spectacles. That way, support is targeted and really helpful.

Expanding our knowledge is one thing, but being able to use it immediately afterward is just as important.
The lesson and game sheets are print-ready. They allow you to start right away, without further preparation.

We do not focus solely at the moment.

Op Kindermaat values the involvement and motivation of a large care network. Both the children, (grand)parents, teachers and other care figures receive our attention. This way, we all speak the same language and the message becomes very clear and powerful, across contexts.
Focusing on quick results is not what we do. Social-emotional development is not a straightforward process. It's about seizing learning opportunities and knowing how to make full use of them. In this way, your child can grow, step by step and at their own pace, into a confident, positive, balanced and resilient young adult.
